경기도의회 서성란 의원(국민의힘·의왕2)이 지난 1월 15일 의왕 도깨비시장에서 열린 민생경제 현장투어에 참석해 김동연 경기도지사와 함께 상인들의 애로사항을 청취하고, 전통시장과 지역 상권 회복 방안을 점검했다.

앞서 서 의원은 지난해 의왕시청에서 열린 ‘지역 현안 정책 발굴 정담회’에 참석해 폭설 피해를 입은 도깨비시장에 대한 복구 지원 방안을 경기도의회 의정정책추진단을 통해 공식 제안한 바 있다. 당시 ▲피해 상인 대상 긴급 금융 및 복구 비용 지원 ▲임시 영업공간 제공 ▲시장 안전 인프라 보강 ▲상황별 맞춤형 복구 지원 프로그램 마련 등을 정책 과제로 제시했다.

서성란 의원은 “도깨비시장은 의왕의 오랜 역사와 생활경제를 지탱해 온 상징적인 공간”이라며 “소상공인과 전통시장이 살아야 지역 경제도 함께 살아난다”고 강조했다.

이어 “앞으로도 민생경제 회복과 전통시장·지역 상권 활성화를 위해 현장 중심의 의정활동을 지속해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
