안양시가 노후 공업지역을 체계적으로 관리하고 산업경쟁력을 높이기 위한 중·장기 로드맵을 내놓았다.

안양시는 도시공업지역의 관리와 활성화를 위한 ‘2030년 안양시 공업지역기본계획’을 수립해 공고했다고 28일 밝혔다. 이번 계획은 공업지역을 단순 보존이 아닌 미래 산업기반으로 재편하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있다.

공업지역기본계획은 2021년 제정된 「도시 공업지역의 관리 및 활성화에 관한 특별법」에 따라 수립되는 법정 계획으로, 공업지역의 중·장기 관리전략과 정책 방향을 제시하는 것이 핵심이다. 대상은 산업단지로 지정·관리 중인 평촌스마트스퀘어를 제외한 공업지역 전역 2.97㎢다.

시는 이번 계획에서 공업지역의 미래상을 ‘지속가능한 성장과 지역경제를 활성화하는 스마트산업 중심도시 안양’으로 설정했다. 이를 위해 공업지역을 ▲박달동 ▲안양·호계동 ▲호계동 ▲평촌·관양동 등 4개 권역으로 구분하고, 산업 기반과 지역 여건에 대해 분석했다.
