김동연 경기도지사가 주 4.5일제가 노동환경과 사회 전반을 변화시키는 계기가 되길 바란다며 제도 확산에 대한 의지를 다시 한 번 밝혔다.

김 지사는 28일 민생경제 현장투어 ‘달달버스’ 마지막 일정으로 구리시에 위치한 주 4.5일제 시범사업 참여기업 ㈜3에스컴퍼니를 방문해 “주 4.5일제가 나비효과처럼 우리 사회를 바꾸는 좋은 계기가 됐으면 좋겠다”고 말했다.

김 지사는 “경기도가 지난해부터 주 4.5일제를 야심차게 시범 도입했고, 이후 정부가 이를 벤치마킹해 전국 확대로 이어졌다”며 “생산성과 일·생활 균형을 동시에 높이겠다는 목표가 현장에서 성과로 나타나고 있다”고 평가했다. 이어 “시범사업 참여 기업들의 성과가 사회 전반의 학습 효과로 이어질 수 있도록 경기도도 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 덧붙였다.

㈜3에스컴퍼니는 인테리어 철거 공사 및 관련 서비스를 수행하는 기업으로, 지난해 6월부터 주 4.5일제 시범사업에 참여해 격주 주 4일제와 일부 직원 대상 주 32~35시간제를 혼합 운영하고 있다. 전체 직원 24명 중 20~30대 청년층이 38%, 여성 직원이 54%를 차지한다.

기업 측에 따르면 제도 도입 이후 채용 지원자 수는 기존 17명에서 182명으로 10배 이상 늘었으며, 학사 이상 지원자 비율도 증가하는 등 인재 유입 효과가 나타났다. 직원 설문조사에서도 직무 몰입도와 일·생활 균형, 삶의 만족도가 모두 상승한 것으로 조사됐다.

이날 간담회에 참석한 직원들은 주 4.5일제 도입 이후 업무 집중도가 높아지고 가족과의 시간도 늘어 만족도가 크다고 입을 모았다. 일부 임직원들은 업무 공백 해소를 위한 IT솔루션 개발 사례를 소개하며 제도 정착을 위한 정책적 지원 확대를 건의하기도 했다.

김 지사는 “사람이 행복해야 생산성도 높아지고 사회도 발전한다”며 “주 4.5일제가 노동 존중과 사회적 가치를 확산시키는 출발점이 되길 기대한다”고 강조했다.

한편, 올해 1월 기준 도내 98개 기업과 공공기관 1곳 등 총 99개 기관이 주 4.5일제 시범사업에 참여 중이며, 경기도는 내년도 참여 기업을 모집하고 있다. 김 지사는 이날 구리를 끝으로 31개 시군을 순회한 민생경제 현장투어를 마무리했다.

According to the company, since the introduction of the system, the number of applicants has increased more than tenfold, from 17 to 182. The percentage of applicants with a bachelor's degree or higher has also increased, demonstrating a positive talent inflow.
