경기도의회 미래과학협력위원회 김철현 의원(국민의힘, 안양2)이 지난 1월 27일 경기도의회 안양상담소에서 시내버스 공공관리제 운영 전반에 대한 업무협의를 갖고 제도 운영 현황과 향후 개선 과제를 점검했다.

이번 협의는 시내버스 공공관리제 시행 과정에서 나타난 현안을 공유하고, 안정적인 제도 정착을 위한 행정 지원 방안과 운영 방향을 논의하기 위해 마련됐다.

김철현 의원은 "시내버스 공공관리제는 도민의 이동권을 보장하고 대중교통 서비스 수준을 유지하는 데 핵심적인 역할을 하는 제도"라며 "제도가 안정적으로 운영될 수 있도록 현장 상황과 행정 지원 체계를 지속적으로 점검할 필요가 있다"고 말했다.

이어 "공공관리제는 도민 일상과 직결된 정책인 만큼, 집행 과정에서 발생하는 애로사항과 제도 운영상의 과제들을 관계 부서와 충분히 소통하며 면밀히 살펴봐야 한다"고 강조했다.

김 의원은 또 "공공관리제 전면 시행 이후 재정지원 규모가 확대되고 있는 만큼 단순한 비용 문제를 넘어 제도의 지속 가능성과 직결된 사안으로 접근해야 한다"며 "2027년 공공관리제 전면 시행을 앞두고 제도가 안정적으로 정착할 수 있도록 관계 부서와의 지속적인 협의를 통해 개선 방안을 마련해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.
