경기도의회 정윤경 부의장(더불어민주당, 군포1)이 지난 2월 1일 군포시 장애인센터 다목적실에서 저서 ‘군포시민 정윤경입니다’ 출판기념회를 열고 시민들과 뜻깊은 소통의 시간을 가졌다.

이날 출판기념회에는 추운 날씨에도 불구하고 군포시민을 비롯해 시민사회 및 의정 관계자 등 1천여 명의 내외빈이 참석해 성황을 이뤘다. 국회에서는 추미애 국회 법제사법위원장을 비롯해 강득구·문정복 더불어민주당 최고위원, 김병주·한준호 국회의원, 이종걸·안민석·양기대 전 국회의원이 참석했으며, 경기도의회에서는 더불어민주당 최종현 대표의원과 성기황·성복임 의원 등 20여 명의 도의원이 자리를 함께했다. 군포시의회에서는 김귀근 의장과 신금자·이길호·이우천 시의원이 출판을 축하했다.

이번 출판기념회는 3선 지방의원으로서의 의정활동을 시민과 함께 돌아보고, 현장의 목소리가 정책으로 구현돼 온 과정을 공유하기 위해 마련됐다. 행사는 개그맨 노정렬 씨의 사회로 식전행사와 본행사로 나뉘어 진행됐으며, 기존의 경직된 출판기념회 형식을 벗어나 포토존을 운영하는 등 자유롭고 따뜻한 분위기 속에서 진행됐다. 행사 시작 전부터 포토존에는 긴 대기 줄이 이어지며 시민들의 높은 관심을 보여줬다.

책 ‘군포시민 정윤경입니다’에는 정윤경 부의장이 지방의회 활동 과정에서 마주한 현장의 이야기와 도민과 함께한 시간, 더 나은 지역사회를 만들기 위한 고민과 성찰이 담겼다. 정책과 제도의 언어가 아닌 일상의 언어로 풀어내 시민 누구나 공감할 수 있도록 구성된 점이 특징이다.

정윤경 부의장은 인사말에서 “이 책은 제가 혼자 써 내려간 이야기가 아니라 도민 한 분 한 분과 함께 만들어 온 기록”이라며 “현장에서 들었던 작은 목소리들이 정책으로 이어지고, 그 정책이 다시 삶을 바꾸는 선순환을 만들고 싶다는 마음을 담았다”고 말했다. 이어 “책 출간은 지난 의정활동을 돌아보는 동시에 앞으로 어떤 자세로 의정활동을 이어가야 할지 스스로에게 묻는 시간이기도 했다”며 “앞으로도 시민의 눈높이에서 듣고, 시민의 삶에 답하는 정치로 보답하겠다”고 강조했다.

행사에 참석한 시민들의 반응도 이어졌다. 군포시에 거주하는 한 시민은 “늘 현장에서 자주 만나던 분이라 친근했는데, 책을 통해 그 고민의 깊이를 알게 됐다”며 “정치가 멀게 느껴지지 않고 우리의 삶과 연결돼 있다는 걸 느꼈다”고 말했다. 또 다른 참석자는 “형식적인 정치인의 출판기념회가 아니라 시민을 초대해 이야기를 나누는 자리 같아 인상 깊었다”고 전했다.

A local civil society representative also commented, "Vice Speaker Jeong Yoon-gyeong has built trust through action, not words. This book launch was a meaningful opportunity to reflect on her legislative activities and share future directions with the public."

Even after the official event concluded, many attendees remained seated, engaging in direct conversations with Vice Speaker Jeong, sharing their perspectives on a wide range of issues, from personal life stories to local issues.

Meanwhile, as Vice Speaker of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, Vice Speaker Jeong Yoon-gyeong is actively engaged in legislative activities to strengthen the role of local councils and implement citizen-centered policies.
