경기도가 올해 재해로부터 안전한 하천 환경 조성을 위해 2,490여억 원을 투입, 도내 88개 지방하천 정비사업을 추진한다.

경기도의 지방하천 정비사업은 도가 직접 시행하는 사업과 시군 대행사업으로 나뉜다. 시군 대행사업은 5년 이상 소요되는 대규모 정비와 달리, 재해 위험이 크거나 현장 여건상 신속한 정비가 필요한 구간을 중심으로 추진되고 있다. 도는 지난 2016년부터 이 방식을 정책적으로 운영해 왔다.
