 “우리는 봉사한다!”라는 단일 구호 아래 자발적이고 주체적인 실천으로 지역사회를 밝혀온 국제라이온스클럽 354-B 지구 안양동안라이온스클럽이 새로운 도약을 선언하는 의례를 가졌다.

안양동안라이온스클럽은 지난 17일 저녁 6시 30분 평촌 마벨리에에서 ‘창립 제18주년 기념식 및 회장 이취임식’을 개최했다. 이번 행사는 라이온스 특유의 절도와 기개가 넘치는 진행 절차 속에서 회원 간의 단합을 도모하고 봉사의 가치를 되새기는 시간으로 채워졌다.

행사의 전반부인 제1부에서는 본 클럽의 정체성을 확립하고 헌신한 이들을 격려하는 의식이 거행됐다. 각 지역에서 참석한 라이온들의 소개를 시작으로, 새롭게 봉사의 대열에 합류한 신입회원들의 입회 선서가 진행되며 신입 라이온들에게 자긍심을 고취했다.

이어 지난 임기 동안 안양동안라이온스클럽을 안정적으로 이끈 임정인 회장의 이임사와 지역 총재 및 부총재들의 축사가 이어졌다. 임정인 이임회장은 “재임 기간 동안 묵묵히 실천적 봉사에 동참해 준 회원들 덕분에 명예롭게 임기를 마친다”라며 전임 집행부와 회원들에게 감사를 표했다.

이날 행사에서는 국제라이온스클럽의 공식 기금 모금 기관인 국제라이온스재단(LCIF) 및 지구발전기금 전달식도 함께 진행됐다. 기부된 기금은 시력 보호, 재해 구호, 당뇨병 예방 등 전 세계 인도주의적 교부금 사업에 전액 사용될 예정이다.

시상식에서는 성실한 활동을 증명한 김초원 라이온이 ‘100% 출석상’을, 해소미 이서목 라이온 등이 ‘총재표창패’를 수상하며 큰 박수를 받았다.

제2부에서는 새 집행부에 대한 전폭적인 신뢰와 기대를 담은 이취임 의례가 본격적으로 펼쳐졌다. 신임회장으로 추대된 해소미 이서목 라이온의 엄숙한 선서와 취임사가 진행됐다. 이서목 신임회장은 취임사에서 “역대 회장님들과 회원들이 쌓아 올린 주체적인 봉사 전통을 이어받아, 말보다 실천 행동으로 지역사회의 어두운 곳을 밝히는 안양동안라이온스클럽을 만들겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

이어 클럽의 도약을 함께 이끌 차기 집행부인 제1부회장 경선 라이온, 제2부회장 김지현 라이온, 총무 서인실 라이온, 재무 서현희 라이온 등이 차례로 소개되며 회원들의 뜨거운 지지와 연대의 뜻을 확인했다.

마지막 제3부에서는 친교를 다지는 만찬과 케이크 커팅식이 진행됐다. 참석한 모든 라이온들은 클럽의 주제가인 ‘난 아네, 라이온 정신’을 제창한 뒤, 라이온스 특유의 사자후인 “우(단결), 왔(성실), 왔(용맹), 우왔(번영)”을 외치며 행사를 마무리했다.

창립 18주년을 맞이한 안양동안라이온스클럽은 이번 이취임식이라는 의례를 통해 조직의 연속성과 결속을 재확인하였다. 전임 집행부의 노고를 기리고, 신임 집행부에 대한 신뢰를 공유하는 가운데, 지역사회 봉사라는 본연의 방향성을 다시 한 번 다지는 계기가 되었다.

The Anyang Dongan Lions Club held its ‘18th Anniversary Ceremony and Presidential Inauguration’ at Pyeongchon Mabelle on the evening of the 17th at 6:30 PM. The event was filled with proceedings overflowing with the discipline and spirit characteristic of Lions, serving as a time to foster unity among members and reflect on the value of service.

In the first part of the event, a ceremony was held to establish the club's identity and to encourage those who have dedicated themselves to the cause. The event began with introductions of Lions attending from various regions, followed by the oath of membership for new members joining the ranks of service, instilling a sense of pride in the new members.

This was followed by the farewell address from outgoing President Lim Jeong-in, who had stably led the Anyang Dong-an Lions Club during his term, and congratulatory remarks from the District Governor and Vice Governor.
