경기도군포의왕교육지원청(교육장 정숙경)이 학생들의 문해력과 사고력을 키우고 가정 중심의 독서문화를 확산하기 위해 가족이 함께하는 특별한 독서 프로그램을 마련했다. 스마트기기 대신 책에 온전히 몰입하는 시간을 통해 AI 시대 핵심 역량인 ‘읽는 힘’과 ‘생각하는 힘’을 기르는 의미 있는 교육의 장이 펼쳐졌다.

군포의왕교육지원청은 지난 27일 IB(국제 바칼로레아) 인증학교인 곡란초등학교에서 관내 초등학생 가족과 교원이 함께 참여하는 ‘2026 군포의왕 IB 인증학교와 함께하는 문해력 강화 가족 몰입독서 캠프’를 운영했다.

이번 캠프는 가족이 함께 책을 읽고 서로의 생각을 나누는 과정을 통해 학생들의 문해력과 비판적 사고력을 높이고, 가정 속 독서문화를 활성화하기 위해 마련됐다. 특히 AI 시대의 핵심 역량으로 주목받는 문해력의 중요성을 공유하고, IB 교육 철학에 기반한 탐구 중심 독서교육의 실천 방안을 함께 모색하는 자리로 의미를 더했다.

캠프는 오전부터 오후까지 6시간 동안 스마트기기 사용을 최소화한 가운데 진행됐다. 참가자들은 책을 깊이 읽는 '몰입독서'를 경험한 뒤 그림으로 내용 표현하기, 줄거리 발표하기, 질문하며 읽기, 가족과 생각 나누기, 독서 소감 발표 등 다양한 독후 활동에 참여하며 책을 단순히 읽는 것을 넘어 함께 이해하고 토론하는 시간을 가졌다.

캠프에 참여한 한 학부모는 “아이와 오랜 시간 함께 책을 읽고 대화를 나누며 서로를 더 깊이 이해할 수 있었다”며 “책에 집중하는 아이의 모습을 보니 매우 뜻깊고 소중한 시간이었다”고 소감을 전했다.
