신계용 과천시장이 1일 시청 대강당에서 민선9기 취임식을 갖고 ‘과천다움의 완성’을 시정 비전으로 제시하며 새로운 4년의 출발을 알렸다.

이날 취임식은 대규모 행사 대신 시청 대강당에서 시민과 공직자 등 200여 명이 참석한 가운데 검소하고 내실 있게 진행됐다. 시민과 직원이 함께 민선9기의 출범을 축하하며 새로운 시정에 대한 기대를 나누는 자리로 마련됐다.

신 시장은 취임사를 통해 “살기 좋은 도시를 넘어 미래 100년을 준비하는 과천을 만들겠다”며 민선9기 핵심 과제로 ▲첨단산업·의료바이오·AI를 연계한 '과천형 AX(인공지능 전환) 클러스터' 조성 ▲의과대학 유치와 교육·연구 기반 강화 ▲광역교통망 확충과 대중교통 개선 ▲아주대병원 건립을 통한 응급의료체계 구축 ▲녹지와 산책로 확충을 통한 탄소중립 도시 조성 등을 제시했다.

또 ‘민선9기는 시민과 함께 더 큰 도약과 과천다움의 완성을 이루는 시간이 될 것“이라며 시민들의 지속적인 관심과 참여를 당부했다.

신 시장은 취임식에 앞서 현충탑을 참배하고, 민선9기 첫 결재로 ‘청계산 송전탑 지중화 추진’을 승인하며 공식 업무를 시작했다. 이어 구내식당에서 직원들에게 직접 배식하며 현장 소통 행보도 이어갔다.
