정유현 아나운서가 '제23회 지역신문의 날' 문화예술대상을 수상하며 방송을 통한 지역문화와 공익적 가치 확산에 기여한 공로를 인정받았다.

사단법인 전국지역신문협회는 지난 10일 서울 국회의원회관에서 '제23회 지역신문의 날' 기념식을 열고 지방자치와 지역사회 발전, 문화예술 진흥 등에 기여한 각 분야 인사들을 선정해 시상했다.

문화예술대상은 문화예술을 통해 지역사회 발전과 문화적 가치 확산에 기여한 인물에게 수여되는 상으로, 올해는 정유현 아나운서를 비롯해 최재홍 마포문화원장, 혼성 4인조 그룹 군조크루 등이 함께 수상의 영예를 안았다.

정 아나운서는 프리랜서로 활동하는 방송인으로서 안정적인 진행 능력과 친근한 소통으로 시청자들에게 신뢰를 쌓아왔으며, 특히 지역사회의 다양한 이야기를 국민들에게 전달하는 데 기여해 왔다는 평가를 받았다. 또한 공익성과 전문성을 바탕으로 지역문화와 공동체의 가치를 알리는 방송 활동을 꾸준히 이어온 점도 수상 배경으로 꼽혔다.

전국지역신문협회는 전국 340여 개 지역신문사가 회원사로 참여하는 전국 단위 언론단체로, 지난 2004년 ‘지역신문의 날’을 제정한 이후 매년 기념식을 개최하며 지역발전과 지방자치 활성화에 기여한 인물들을 발굴해 시상하고 있다.

이날 기념식에서 이여춘 부회장의 윤리강령 낭독에 이어 김용숙 중앙회장이 대회사를 통해 “지역이 살아야 대한민국이 산다”며 지역신문과 지방자치의 상생 발전을 강조했다.

한편, 이번 시상식에서는 의정대상, 자랑스러운 공무원상, CEO대상, 사회봉사대상 등 다양한 분야의 수상자들이 함께 선정돼 지역사회 발전에 기여한 공로를 인정받았다.
