안양문화예술재단(이사장 최대호)이 오는 8월 8일 오후 4시 안양아트센터 관악홀에서 신전통춤 공연 '윤미라의 신전통춤전: 무악지우(舞樂之友)'를 개최한다.

이번 공연은 (재)예술경영지원센터의 '2026 공연예술 지역유통 지원사업' 선정작으로, 오랜 문헌과 구술자료, 고서화 등에 대한 고증과 연구를 바탕으로 한국 전통춤을 현대적인 무대 언어로 재해석한 작품이다.

역사적 기록과 전통문화 요소를 춤과 음악, 영상으로 풀어내 한국 전통예술의 고풍스러운 아름다움과 현대적 감각을 동시에 담아낸다.

공연은 신윤복의 풍속화와 고대 유물 조각, 고분벽화 등에 등장하는 전통 악기에서 영감을 받아 구성됐다. 비파와 공후, 피리, 요고, 생황, 소장구, 박, 거문고, 향발, 소고, 꽹과리 등 다양한 전통 악기를 춤과 결합해 악기마다 지닌 고유한 특색을 장면별로 표현하며, 춤과 음악이 어우러진 새로운 무대를 선보일 예정이다.

특히 각 작품 사이에는 영상을 삽입해 공연 전체를 하나의 이야기로 연결한다. 전통춤과 음악, 영상이 유기적으로 어우러져 서사성과 입체감을 더하며 관객들에게 한 편의 예술 작품을 감상하는 듯한 몰입감을 선사한다.

화성재인청 이동안류를 재구성한 '태평무', 통일신라 시대 주악비천상과 천인의 모습을 형상화한 '무악지선', 거문고의 선율과 이미지를 춤으로 표현한 '월하무현금', 무용수가 직접 장단을 연주하며 역동적인 움직임을 펼치는 '장고춤' 등 작품마다 서로 다른 전통춤의 미학과 표현 방식을 만나볼 수 있다.

The Anyang Arts Foundation (Chairman Choi Dae-ho) will host the new traditional dance performance 'Yoon Mi-ra's New Traditional Dance Exhibition: Muakjiu (Friends of Dance and Music)' at 4:00 PM on August 8 at Gwanak Hall of the Anyang Arts Center.

Selected for the Korea Arts Management Service's '2026 Regional Distribution Support Project for Performing Arts,' this performance is a work that reinterprets Korean traditional dance using a modern stage language, based on historical verification and research of ancient literature, oral histories, and ancient paintings and calligraphy.

By interpreting historical records and elements of traditional culture through dance, music, and video, the performance captures both the antique beauty of Korean traditional art and a modern sensibility. The performance is composed of traditional musical instruments inspired by those appearing in Shin Yun-bok's genre paintings, ancient artifacts, and tomb murals. By combining dance with various traditional instruments—such as the pipa, gonghu, piri, yogo, saenghwang, sojanggu, bak, geomungo, hyangbal, sogo, and kkwaenggwari—the unique characteristics of each instrument are expressed scene by scene, presenting a new stage where dance and music harmonize.

In particular, videos are inserted between each piece to connect the entire performance into a single narrative. Traditional dance, music, and video blend organically to enhance narrative depth and dimensionality, offering the audience an immersive experience akin to watching a complete work of art.

Each piece showcases distinct aesthetics and modes of expression in traditional dance, including 'Taepyeongmu,' a reinterpretation of the Hwaseong Jaeincheong Idong-an style; 'Muakjiseon,' which embodies the imagery of celestial beings and musical celestials from the Unified Silla period; 'Wolhamuhyeongeum,' which expresses the melodies and imagery of the geomungo through dance; and 'Janggochum,' where dancers perform dynamic movements while playing the rhythm themselves.

Through this performance, the Anyang Culture and Arts Foundation plans to highlight the artistry and stage beauty of Korean traditional arts by harmoniously presenting various traditional dances and instruments on a single stage. By combining works reconstructed from historical records with modern staging, the performance is expected to convey the depth and diverse charms of traditional arts to the audience.
