공공데이터의 활용 범위를 넓히기 위해서는 그동안 접근이 어려웠던 민간데이터를 얼마나 손쉽게 활용할 수 있느냐가 관건이었다. 경기도가 이러한 한계를 뛰어넘는 새로운 데이터 분석 기반을 마련했다.

경기도는 전국 지방자치단체 가운데 처음으로 ‘온라인 데이터 분석센터’를 구축하고, 경기데이터드림을 통해 공공데이터와 민간데이터를 연계해 분석할 수 있는 서비스를 지난 20일부터 본격 운영한다고 밝혔다.

기존에는 통신·카드·신용정보 등 비공개 민간데이터를 활용하려면 지정된 오프라인 분석센터를 직접 방문해야 했다. 하지만 온라인 분석센터가 도입되면서 인터넷만 연결되면 집이나 사무실에서도 클라우드 환경에서 필요한 데이터를 분석할 수 있게 됐다.

이번 서비스의 가장 큰 특징은 공공데이터와 민간데이터를 함께 활용할 수 있다는 점이다. 경기데이터드림에서 제공하던 공개 민간데이터 45종은 물론, 그동안 오프라인에서만 제한적으로 제공되던 비공개 민간데이터 59종까지 더해 모두 104종의 데이터를 분석할 수 있다.

제공되는 데이터는 관심지역 방문객과 생활인구를 확인할 수 있는 통신 데이터, 카드 매출과 가맹점 정보를 담은 카드 데이터, 행정동 단위 소득·소비·부채·인구통계와 기업 정보를 포함한 신용 데이터 등으로 구성됐다. 이용자는 필요한 정보를 분야별로 손쉽게 선택해 활용할 수 있다.

분석 환경도 전문 연구 수준에 맞춰 제공된다. 기본 사양은 CPU 8코어, 메모리 32GB, 저장공간 500GB이며, 대용량 분석이 필요한 경우 CPU 16코어와 메모리 64GB, 저장공간 1TB까지 확장 신청이 가능하다. Python, R, R-Studio, QGIS, Orange, Superset 등 주요 데이터 분석 프로그램도 함께 지원된다.

서비스 이용은 경기데이터드림 회원가입 후 분석 목적과 활용 데이터를 신청하면 된다. 담당자 승인과 2단계 인증 절차를 거쳐 분석 환경을 이용할 수 있으며, 최초 7일 동안 사용할 수 있다. 이후 두 차례 연장이 가능해 최대 21일까지 이용할 수 있고, 여러 연구자가 하나의 분석환경에서 공동 연구를 수행하는 것도 가능하다.

도는 이번 온라인 분석센터 구축으로 소상공인의 상권 분석은 물론 정책 수립, 학술 연구, AI 모델 개발 등 다양한 분야에서 데이터 활용이 크게 확대될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
