경기도의회 안전행정위원회 장민수 의원(더불어민주당, 안양5)이 지난달 28일 경기도청 다산홀에서 열린 ‘2026년 경기도 주민자치 우수사례 경연대회’에 참석해 안양시 대표로 참가한 귀인동 주민자치회 위원들을 격려하고 주민자치 활성화를 위한 현장의 의견을 청취했다.

이날 안양시 귀인동 주민자치회는 김규아 위원이 발표자로 나서 ‘배우고 실천하고 나누는 귀인동’을 주제로 주민 참여형 공동체 활성화 사례를 소개했다. 발표는 주민 주도의 다양한 자치활동과 공동체 운영 성과를 담아 참석자들의 호응을 얻었으며, 심사 결과 주민자치 장려상을 수상하는 성과를 거뒀다.

장민수 의원은 경연을 지켜본 뒤 귀인동 주민자치회 위원들과 만나 “주민들이 스스로 지역의 현안을 발굴하고 함께 해결 방안을 만들어 가는 모습이야말로 지방자치가 지향해야 할 가장 바람직한 모습”이라며 “지역 공동체를 위해 헌신해 주신 주민자치회 위원 여러분께 감사드린다”고 말했다.

이어 “귀인동 주민자치회의 우수사례와 값진 성과가 안양을 넘어 경기도 전역으로 확산되길 기대한다”며 “풀뿌리 민주주의의 핵심인 주민자치가 안양시 전역에 더욱 깊이 뿌리내릴 수 있도록 경기도의회에서도 지속적인 관심과 정책적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 이번 경연대회는 지방자치법 개정으로 본격 운영되고 있는 주민자치회의 우수사례를 공유하고 주민 주도의 지역문제 해결 사례를 발굴·확산하기 위해 마련됐다. 도내 29개 시·군 가운데 1차 서면심사를 통과한 15개 시·군 대표 주민자치회가 참가해 지역별 특색을 살린 다양한 주민자치 우수사례를 발표했다.

Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly Member Jang Min-su (Democratic Party of Korea, Anyang 5), a member of the Safety and Administration Committee, attended the ‘2026 Gyeonggi Residents' Autonomy Best Practices Contest’ held at the Dasan Hall of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government on the 28th of last month. Meanwhile, this competition was organized to share best practices of residents' associations, which are now operating in earnest following the amendment of the Local Autonomy Act, and to discover and disseminate examples of resident-led solutions to local problems. Representative residents' associations from 15 cities and counties out of the province that passed the first round of written screening participated and presented various excellent examples of residents' autonomy that highlighted the unique characteristics of their respective regions.
