경기도의회(의장 남종섭)는 지난 7월 31일 의장 접견실에서 ‘제12대 전반기 의원 교육연수위원회 위원 위촉식’을 개최했다.

남종섭 의장은 이날 새롭게 위촉된 도의원 위원들에게 위촉장을 수여하고 체계적인 의원 교육 기반 마련을 당부했다.

신규 위촉된 위원은 김일중(국민의힘, 이천1)·오현정(더민주, 화성2)·이윤승(더민주, 고양12)·이자형(더민주, 광주3)·장민수(더민주, 안양5)·한운옥(더민주, 수원3) 의원 등 총 6명이다. 이들은 기존 민간전문가 위원 5명과 함께 의원 교육연수 정책 수립, 교육과정별 적정성 평가, 관련 안건 심의 등을 맡는다. 위원 임기는 이날부터 2028년 6월 30일까지 2년간이다.

남 의장은 “전국 최대 광역의회인 경기도의회는 그 규모와 역할에 걸맞은 전문성과 책임감을 갖춰야 한다”며 “더 많이 공부하고 더 치밀하게 준비하는 의회가 될 수 있도록 교육연수위원회가 체계적인 교육 기반을 마련하는 데 중요한 역할을 해주길 기대한다”고 말했다.

위촉식에 이어 열린 ‘2026년 제2차 회의’에서는 위원장 및 소위원회 위원 선출과 함께 상반기 교육실적, 하반기 운영 계획 등이 논의됐다. 이 회의에서 위원장으로 선출된 이자형 위원은 “의원들의 교육연수 정책 전반을 책임지는 교육연수위원회의 역할이 매우 중요하다”며 “새로운 교육연수위원회 출범을 계기로 의원 교육의 긍정적 변화와 발전을 이끌 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
