안양시가 급변하는 도시 교통환경과 광역교통망 확충에 대응하기 위한 종합교통계획 수립에 착수했다.

시는 지난 10일 시청 전자회의실에서 ‘안양시 종합교통계획 수립용역’ 착수보고회를 열고 향후 교통정책의 기본 방향과 주요 과제를 논의했다고 11일 밝혔다.

이번 용역은 도시교통정비 중기계획과 지역 교통안전 기본계획, 지속가능 지방교통물류 발전계획, 지방 교통약자 이동편의 증진계획 등 5년 단위의 4개 법정계획을 연계해 수립하는 사업이다. 개별적으로 추진해 온 교통계획을 하나의 청사진으로 통합해 정책 간 연계성을 높이겠다는 취지다.

시는 특히 GTX-C노선과 월곶~판교선, 인덕원~동탄선, 신안산선 등 광역철도망 확충에 따른 교통 변화에 주목하고 있다. 위례~과천선과 서울 서부선의 안양 연장, 박달스마트시티 등 주요 개발사업에 따른 교통 수요까지 종합적으로 분석해 대응 방안을 마련할 계획이다.
