임태희 경기도교육감이 청소년 매니페스토 실천단 2기 발대식에서 이같이 강조했다.

경기도교육청은 청소년의 정책 참여와 소통을 위해 구성된 청소년 매니페스토 실천단(이하 청매실) 2기 발대식을 지난 5월 10일 오후 남부청사에서 개최했다.

경기도교육청이 전국 교육청 최초로 구성한 청소년 매니페스토 실천단이 올해 2기를 맞이했다. 경기도교육청은 지난 4월 공개모집과 서류심사를 거쳐 총 23명을 선발했으며 △청소년 관련 정책 모니터링과 의견 제안 △공약사항 현장 체험 정책 캠프 △경기교육 홍보 캠페인 등 다양한 활동에 참여한다.

이날 발대식은 공개모집으로 선발된 초‧중‧고등학생, 다문화학생, 학교 밖 청소년 등 경기도 청소년과 학부모 50여 명이 참석했다.

청매실 청소년 위원으로 선정된 청소년들은 위촉장과 함께 청매실 단원증을 전달받고 청소년 관련 공약과제를 발표한 후 경기교육 공감 토크 시간을 가졌다.

공감 토크는 청소년이 학교에서 경험한 공약과 경기교육의 현실을 청소년의 관점에서 이야기하고 교육감이 답하는 방식으로 진행됐다.

먼저 도내 학생 7,000명이 참여한 경기교육정책 관련 온라인 설문조사를 바탕으로 학생들이 생각하는 경기교육 모습을 발표했다.

경기교육 정책이 교육 수요자 생각을 잘 반영하는지에 대해 89% 학생이 보통 이상으로, 경기교육 정책 변화를 학교 교육활동에서 실제 느끼는지 질문에 85%가 보통 이상이라는 답변을 했다. 경기교육 정책이 미래사회 변화에 맞게 추진되는지 질문에는 90% 그렇다고 답변했다.

임태희 경기도교육감은 “학교가 미래사회에 필요한 교육을 하는 것이 경기교육의 목표”라며 “여러분이 자신의 문제를 해결하고, 경험하지 못한 문제를 다른 사람들과 의논해서 함께 해결하는 것이 교육”이라고 강조했다.

취업 연계형 직업계고 지원 강화에 대한 학생의 의견에는 “취‧창업센터를 운영해 기업의 수요를 맞추는 프로그램을 운영하고 다양한 기관과 협력해 취업을 지원하는 방안을 마련하겠다”고 답했다.
