제2회 아시아문화한림원(AAC, Asian Academy of Culture, 원장 전홍덕) 국제심포지엄과 제3회 아시아문화디자인공모전(Asia Cultural Design Contest·ACDC)이 지난 3월 27일, 28일 베트남 호치민 반랑대학교에서 ‘진화하는 기술 속 아시아 문화정체성’을 주제로 개최됐다.

이번 행사는 아시아문화한림원(원장 전홍덕)과 반랑대학교(총장 Tran Thi My Dieu)가공동 주최하고, (재)국제문화재단(이사장 전홍덕·서울시 종로구), 글로벌 나라, 유스나우이 공식 후원해 개최됐다. 아시아 문화의 다양성과 창의성을 기반으로 한 정책개발과 연구협력, 실질적 문화교류를 목표로 개최된 이날 행사에는 한국, 베트남, 중국, 태국, 인도네시아, 필리핀 등 6개국에서 300여 명의 문화 분야 석학들이 참여했다.

제2회 AAC국제 심포지엄에는 공동주최 측 전홍덕 아시아문화한림원장을 비롯, Lee Wei 교수(난징항공우주대학교·중국), Nguyen Dac Thai부학장(반랑대학교·베트남), Rittirong Chutapruttikorn 전 학장(방콕대학교·태국), 천현진 교수(난징항공우주대학교·아시아문화경관학회장), Antika Sawadsri 학장(왕립몽쿳공과대학교·태국), Sarah Moussavi 교수(필리핀국립대), Ray March Syahadat 교수(인도네시아국립과학원), 정은혜 전 국회의원 등 300 여명의 학자와 정치인, 각국의 문화 분야 인사들이 참여해 열띤 토론을 통해 아시아의 문화 다양성을 기반으로 새로운 시각을 공유했다.

전홍덕 아시아문화한림원장은 환영사에서 “제2회 AAC국제심포지엄은 ‘아시아의 지혜, 미래와 연결’이라는 목표를 통해 다양한 연구·논의를 위한 플랫폼이 되겠다”며, “반랑대학교와 의미있는 행사를 공동주최해 영광”이라고 말했다.

Nguyen Dac Thai 베트남 반랑대학교 부학장은 인사말에서 “AAC 심포지엄은 아시아 전역의 학자들이 모여 아시아 문화에 대한 심도 있는 연구와 논의를 통해 미래의 다양한 도전에 대한 해결책을 모색하고자 한다”며, “이러한 접근은 아시아 문화의 독특한 가치와 의미를 재발견하고 더 나은 미래를 만드는 데 기여할 것”이라고 말했다.

정은혜 전 국회의원은 “문화는 우리의 정체성을 형성하고 사회 발전에 기여하는 중요한 요소”라며, “아시아는 풍부한 문화유산과 다양한 전통을 자랑하며 이는 세계무대에서 독특한 목소리를 낸다. 서로의 문화를 이해하고 공감할 수 있다면 더 평화로운 미래를 만들 수 있다”고 말했다.

제2회 국제심포지엄은 △아시아 문화 정체성의 다양성과 지혜 △아시아 문화에 대한 새로운 연구 관점 △아시아 문화유산 보존과 기술 활용 △평화로운 세계를 위한 아시아 문화의 역할 등 4가지를 주제로 천현진 교수(중국 난징항공우주대학교) 등 6개국의 교수진들이 발제자로 나서 토론을 통해 새로운 시각을 제시하며 참가자들의 뜨거운 호응을 이끌어냈다.

이번 심포지엄에서 발표된 논문들은 추후 International Journal of Asian Culture Vol.2에 게재될 예정이다.

제2회 AAC국제 심포지엄에 앞서 3월 27일에는 아시아 6개국 대학생과 대학원생들이 자국의 문화를 재해석한 디자인 작품을 발표한 제3회 ‘아시아 문화디자인 공모전’이 깊은 관심 속에 열렸다. 6개국에서 참여한 작품 가운데 50개의 작품이 선정돼 전시됐다.
