국제라이온스협회 354-B지구 안양라이온스클럽과 제7지역 임원회가 지역 내 소외된 어르신을 위한 주거환경 개선 봉사 활동에 나서 지역사회의 귀감이 되고 있다.

이번 봉사 활동은 지난 16일부터 17일까지 양일간 안양9동에 거주하는 독거어르신 가구를 대상으로 진행됐다. 이번 활동은 성결재가노인서비스센터가 주관하는 주거환경 개선 사업인 ‘성결재가 독거어르신 집수리-오늘도 안녕한 집’의 일환으로 마련됐다.

현장에는 안양라이온스클럽 한상익 회장과 회원 10여 명, 그리고 제7지역 조현철 부총재가 직접 참여해 팔을 걷어붙였다. 봉사단은 집안 내부의 낡은 도배지와 장판을 전면 교체하는 것은 물론, 고장 난 화장실 집기와 문짝, 노후된 싱크대 및 천정 등을 꼼꼼히 수리하고 보수해 쾌적한 보금자리로 탈바꿈시켰다.

정비를 마친 봉사단원들은 깨끗해진 집안을 둘러보며 뿌듯함을 전했다. 한상익 회장은 “우리들의 작은 사랑과 봉사의 마음이 하나로 모일 때 안양라이온스클럽이 더욱 성숙한 단체로 거듭날 수 있을 것”이라며, 앞으로도 지역의 그늘진 곳을 살피는 활동을 이어가겠다는 의지를 밝혔다.

The Anyang Lions Club of Lions International District 354-B and the District 7 Executive Board are setting an example for the community by engaging in volunteer activities to improve the living environments of marginalized elderly residents in the area.

This volunteer activity took place over two days, from the 16th to the 17th, targeting households of elderly residents living alone in Anyang 9-dong. This initiative was organized as part of the “Seonggyeol Home Care for the Elderly – A Safe Home Today” project, a housing environment improvement initiative supervised by the Seonggyeol Home Care Service Center for the Elderly.

Anyang Lions Club President Han Sang-ik and about 10 members, along with District 7 Vice Governor Cho Hyun-cheol, personally participated and rolled up their sleeves on-site. The volunteer group not only completely replaced the old wallpaper and flooring inside the house but also meticulously repaired and maintained broken bathroom fixtures and doors, as well as the aging sink and ceiling, transforming the home into a pleasant dwelling.

After completing the renovations, the volunteers looked around the clean house and expressed their sense of pride.
