경기도가 지난 7월 8일 경기도청 다산홀에서 개최한 ‘2025년 경기도 주민자치 우수사례 한마당’에서 고양시가 ‘행신2동에 연꽃이 피었습니다’ 사례로 대상을 수상했다. 안양권에서는 군포시가 장려상을 수상했다.

올해 ‘2025년 경기도 주민자치 우수사례 한마당’에는 서면 심사를 통과한 15개 시군이 참여해, 지역별 주민자치 우수사례를 공유했다. 경기도는 주민 중심의 자치 활성화를 확대하기 위해 수상 시군에 대한 우수사업비를 지난해 2,900만 원에서 올해 6,200만 원으로 증액했다.

주민자치(위원)회 위원의 발표 결과 △대상은 고양시 △최우수상은 시흥시 △우수상은 수원시, 의정부시, 광명시 △장려상은 군포시, 안산시, 화성시, 안성시, 이천시, 부천시, 김포시, 남양주시, 파주시, 포천시가 각각 수상했다.

대상을 수상한 고양시 행신2동 주민자치회는 친환경 연꽃밭 생태 탐방 프로그램, 행주대첩 주먹밥·행신 연잎밥 만들기 등 지역 자원인 연꽃을 활용해 다양한 프로그램을 추진하고, 주민의 참여도와 만족도를 높인 점에서 우수사례로 선정됐다.

김성중 경기도 행정1부지사는 “풀뿌리 민주주의의 기반을 마련하기 위해 올해 주민자치 예산을 대폭 확대했다”면서 “앞으로도 주민이 주인이 되는 자치 실현을 위해 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
