의왕시민들의 숙원이자 의왕시의 중점과제 중 하나인 종합병원 유치 사업이 본격화되고 있다.

의왕시는 지난 7월 23일 ‘의왕종합병원 설립 전담조직(TF)팀’ 첫 회의를 개최, 참여기관들이 의왕 종합병원의 신속한 건립 필요성을 공유하고, 계획 단계별 기관의 역할을 점검했다.

의왕시는 백운밸리 도시개발사업 초기부터 종합병원이 전무한 지역 의료환경 개선을 위해 꾸준히 종합병원 유치 활동을 벌여왔다. 마침내 지난 6월 13일 백운밸리 도시개발 사업 내 종합병원 예정 부지가 매각되면서 종합병원 유치에 성공했다.

㈜이롬이 매입한 부지에 사랑의 병원이 종합병원을 건립하고 운영할 예정. 병원의 실제 건립을 위해서는 건축 인허가 및 의료기관 개설 허가 등의 행정적 절차가 신속하게 진행돼야 한다.

의왕시는 행정절차 각 분야의 관계부서와 민간사업자가 참여하는 ‘의왕종합병원 설립 전담조직(T/F)팀’을 구성해 적극적으로 대응하고 있다. 전담조직(T/F)팀에는 △건축 인허가를 담당하는 건축과, △의료기관 개설 허가를 맡은 보건행정과, △사업 전반을 총괄하고 조율하는 도시개발과를 비롯해 △개발사업 시행자인 백운피에프브이㈜, △토지 매수자인 ㈜이롬 △병원 운영 주체인 사랑의 병원, 그리고 전문 컨설팅사와 건축설계사가 참여한다.

김성제 의왕시장은 “전담조직(T/F)팀을 중심으로 건축 인허가와 의료기관 개설 허가 절차를 신속하게 마무리해 조속히 착공에 들어갈 수 있도록 전 행정력을 집중하겠다”고 밝혔다.

의왕시는 종합병원이 계획대로 건립되면 지역 내 응급의료 및 종합 진료 기반이 확충돼 시민들의 의료 접근성과 삶의 질이 크게 향상될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

Uiwang City held the first meeting of the ‘Uiwang General Hospital Establishment Task Force (TF) Team’ on July 23, where participating organizations shared the need for rapid establishment of Uiwang General Hospital and inspected the roles of organizations by planning stage.

Uiwang City has been consistently working to attract general hospitals since the early days of the Baekun Valley urban development project to improve the medical environment in the region where there were no general hospitals. Finally, on June 13, the site of the general hospital planned for the Baekun Valley urban development project was sold, successfully attracting a general hospital.

Sarang Hospital plans to build and operate a general hospital on the site purchased by Irom Co., Ltd. In order to actually build a hospital, administrative procedures such as building permits and medical institution opening permits must be carried out quickly.

Uiwang City is actively responding by forming a ‘Uiwang General Hospital Establishment Task Force (T/F) Team’ in which relevant departments in each administrative procedure field and private businesses participate. Uiwang Mayor Kim Seong-je said, “We will focus all administrative power on quickly completing the building permits and medical institution opening permit procedures centered on the task force (T/F) team so that we can start construction as soon as possible.” Uiwang City expects that if the general hospital is built as planned, the emergency medical and comprehensive treatment infrastructure in the region will be expanded, greatly improving citizens’ accessibility to medical care and quality of life.
