조성현 국제라이온스협회 354-B(경기)지구 제1부총재(평촌라이온스클럽)가 국제라이온스협회 354-B(경기)지구(이하 지구) 총재에 당선됐다.

조성현 지구 제1부총재는 지난 3월 20일 오전 수원 경제과학진흥원 경기홀에서 열린 지구 2024-2025 대의원대회에서 총재에 입후보해 참석자 절대다수의 압도적인 지지를 받아 지구 총재에 당선됐다.

조성현 지구 총재후보와 함께 입후보한 윤명호 지구 제1부총재 후보(신갈라이온스클럽)와 최성배 지구 제2부총재 후보(수원장안라이온스클럽)도 당선의 영광을 안았다.

조성현 지구 총재 당선자는 지난해 3월 지구 제2부총재에 당선 됐는데 함께 당선된 P 지구 제1부총재가 직위를 상실함에 따라 지구 제1부총재를 승계했고, 이번에 총재에 당선됐다.

이날 이후 조성현 총재 당선자는 올해 7월 1일 임기 시작전까지는 당선 총재로 불리게 된다. 

조성현 당선 총재는 평촌라이온스클럽 14대 회장 재임 중 클럽 사무실 구입에 3,000만원을 기부하고 MJF 국제기금 100%를 달성함으로써 평촌라이온스클럽이 지구 대상을 수상하는데 기여했다.

또한 지구 본부 회관 이전 추진위원으로서 많은 노력 끝에 용인시 유방동에 대지 1,047평을 구입해 지구회관 건립이 지난해부터 본격 추진되고 있다. 건설인으로서 조성현 당선자는 안양의 랜드마크가 될 46층 오피스텔 건축을 추진 중이며, 소외된 이웃을 위한 다양한 봉사활동으로 많은 상을 수상한 바 있다.
