‘안양춤축제’가 4년 연속 ‘경기대표관광축제’로 선정돼 올해 축제 지원금 1억5,000만원을 확보했다.

‘안양춤축제’는 춤을 주제로 하는 독창적이고 잠재력이 돋보이는 축제라는 점에서 높은 평가를 받았다.

경기도는 지역 대표 축제를 집중 육성, 지역경제 활성화를 위해 지난 1월 7일 경기대표관광축제 지원 계획을 발표하고, 2월 6,7일 심의위원회를 개최, 도내 22개 시군에서 지원한 총 32개 축제를 심의해 안양춤축제 등 19개 축제를 경기대표관광축제로 선정 10일 발표했다. 경기도는 기존 ‘경기관광축제’를 올해부터 ‘경기대표관광축제’로 명칭을 변경하고, 지원금도 상향했다.

경기도는 ‘안양춤축제’가 시민이 직접 참여하고 화합해 지난 20년간 개최해온 ‘안양시민축제’를 한 단계 더 발전시킨 기획력이 우수한 축제라고 선정사유를 밝혔다.

안양시는 오는 9월 ‘2025 안양춤축제’를 개최할 예정으로, ‘활기찬 춤의 도시 안양’을 각인시키고 대한민국을 대표하는 관광 축제로 자리매김할 수 있도록 다채로운 프로그램을 선보일 계획이다.
