의왕시가 시행 중인 ‘온라인 조상땅찾기’ 서비스가 서류 제출 절차를 대폭 간소화하면서 시민들의 호응을 얻고 있다.

의왕시는 지난 2월 12일부터 구비서류 제출을 생략한 ‘온라인 조상땅찾기’ 서비스를 운영하고 있다고 밝혔다.

기존에는 신청인이 가족관계증명서와 기본증명서를 전자문서로 발급받아 K-Geo플랫폼에 직접 업로드해야 하는 번거로움이 있었다. 특히 디지털 기기 사용이 익숙하지 않은 고령층의 경우 서류 준비 과정에서 어려움을 겪으며 결국 시청을 방문하는 사례도 적지 않았다.

그러나 지난달 12일부터 국토교통부 K-Geo플랫폼과 행정정보공동이용시스템이 연계되면서 별도의 서류 제출 없이 정보제공 동의만으로 서비스 이용이 가능해졌다. 클릭 한 번으로 신청이 완료되는 간편 절차가 마련된 것이다.

실제 이용 시민들도 만족감을 나타내고 있다. 온라인으로 서비스를 신청한 한 시민은 “구비서류를 따로 준비하지 않아도 돼 훨씬 편리했다”고 전했다.

방문 민원 절차도 간소화됐다. 시청을 찾은 민원인은 ‘행정정보 공동이용 사전동의서’만 작성하면 담당 공무원이 시스템을 통해 즉시 관련 정보를 확인해준다. 이에 따라 대기 시간은 물론 서류 준비 부담도 크게 줄어들었다.

시 관계자는 “작은 행정 절차 개선이 시민에게는 큰 편의가 된다”며 “앞으로도 시민들이 체감할 수 있는 스마트 지적 행정을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
