안양시청소년재단(이사장 최대호) 산하 호계청소년문화의집(소장 김진희)이 지난 4월 3일 신성중학교(교장 박근영)와 자원순환 환경 실천 프로그램 ‘새로고침’ 운영을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.

이번 프로그램에 참여하는 청소년들은 환경 전문 교육을 시작으로, 안양시 내 나눔가게 탐방 활동에 참여하고 교복·의류·학용품·도서 등을 활용한 자원순환 활동을 직접 기획·운영함으로써 학교와 지역사회 내 자원순환 문화를 확산하는 데 앞장설 계획이다.

‘새로고침’은 2025년 한국청소년활동진흥원 주관 우수 청소년활동 프로그램 지원사업에 선정된 프로그램으로, 패스트 패션과 폐기물 증가 등 심화 되는 환경 문제에 대한 청소년들의 인식을 높이고, 자원순환과 환경 보호의 중요성을 이해하고 실천하도록 기획됐다.

박근영 신성중학교장은 “학교와 청소년 기관, 지역사회가 함께 협력하여 자원순환과 나눔 문화를 조성하는 이번 협약이 매우 뜻깊다”며, “학생들이 책임 있는 환경 주체로 성장할 수 있도록 지속적인 관심과 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 전했다.

김진희 호계청소년문화의집 소장은 “청소년들이 지역사회의 환경 시민으로 성장하기를 바라며, 앞으로도 지역사회 내 여러 기관과 협력해 환경보호의 중요성을 알리고 실천할 수 있는 프로그램을 지속적으로 개발·지원겠다”고 밝혔다.
