안양시의회 장명희 보사환경위원장(더불어민주당, 안양가)이 지난 10월 13일 전국장애인부모연대 경기지부 안양시지회(회장 이경순) 임원진과 간담회를 열어 발달장애인 지원 정책과 일상생활배상책임보험 지원 조례 제정 방안을 논의했다.

이날 간담회 참석자들은 발달장애인과 가족들이 일상에서 겪는 어려움을 공유하며, 지역사회 내에서 안정적으로 자립할 수 있도록 지원하는 제도적 기반의 필요성에 대해 의견을 나눴다.

특히 발달장애인의 사회활동 중 발생할 수 있는 신체·재산 피해에 대해 시가 피해자에게 대신 배상하는 ‘일상생활배상책임보험 지원 조례’ 제정의 필요성을 집중 논의했다. 이를 통해 장애인 가족의 경제적 부담을 줄이고 보다 안정적인 돌봄 환경을 조성할 수 있을 것이라는 데 공감대를 형성했다.
