군포시가 노후화된 당정동 공업지역을 미래형 산업 거점으로 전환하기 위한 절차에 착수했다. 장기간 방치돼 온 공장 이전 부지를 체계적으로 정비해 산업·상업·주거 기능이 어우러진 복합 혁신공간으로 탈바꿈시키겠다는 구상이다.

군포시는 ‘군포당정 공업지역 정비사업 산업혁신구역 지정 및 계획(안)’과 ‘군포도시관리계획(도시혁신구역) 결정(안)’에 대한 주민공람을 실시한다고 5일 밝혔다.

이번 공람은 「도시 공업지역의 관리 및 활성화에 관한 특별법」과 「국토의 계획 및 이용에 관한 법률」에 따른 행정 절차로, 낙후된 공업지역의 기능을 회복하고 지역 산업 경쟁력을 강화하기 위해 추진된다. 사업 시행은 한국토지주택공사(LH)가 맡을 예정이다.
