경기 군포시와 광명시가 전국 최초로 공공 소각시설을 공동 활용하는 ‘상생형 자원순환 협력 모델’을 도입한다.

군포시는 광명시와 생활폐기물 소각시설을 상호 이용하는 내용의 업무협약을 3월 9일 체결했다고 밝혔다. 이번 협약은 2026년 수도권 생활폐기물 직매립 전면 금지 시행에 선제 대응하기 위한 것으로, 지자체 간 소각시설을 공동 활용해 폐기물 처리 안정성을 높이기 위해 추진됐다.

협약에 따라 두 지자체는 각 소각시설의 정기 보수 기간 동안 상대 지자체 시설을 활용해 생활폐기물을 교차 처리하는 ‘상생소각’을 실시한다. 대상은 가연성 생활폐기물로, 하루 약 25톤 규모를 기준으로 연간 약 1,000톤을 40일 범위 내에서 상호 반입·처리할 예정이다. 교차 처리에 따른 반입 협력금이나 추가 처리 비용은 부과하지 않기로 했다.
