과천시가 시민들과 함께 직접 도심 속 정원을 가꾸는 ‘시민 참여 마을정원 조성사업’의 첫 삽을 떴다. 시는 지난 1일 갈현동 지식정보타운 내 근린공원4에서 지역 주민과 어린이들이 함께 참여하는 꽃 심기 행사를 열고 본격적인 정원 조성에 나섰다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사에는 신계용 과천시장을 비롯해 지역 사회단체 구성원, 인근 어린이집 원아와 학부모 등 다양한 세대의 시민들이 참여해 공원 내 6개 구역에 직접 꽃을 심으며 구슬땀을 흘렸다. 특히 고사리손으로 꽃을 심으며 자연을 체험한 어린이들에게는 도심 속에서 생명의 소중함을 배우는 뜻 깊은 시간이 되었다.
