과천시가 한국매니페스토실천본부가 주관하는 ‘2026 전국 기초단체장 공약이행 및 정보공개 평가’에서 최고 등급인 SA를 획득했다. 이로써 과천시는 민선 8기 전 기간에 걸쳐 4년 연속 최우수 등급을 달성하며 시민과의 약속을 가장 잘 지키는 지자체임을 다시 한번 입증했다.

Gwacheon City has obtained the highest grade, SA, in the ‘2026 National Evaluation of Basic Local Government Heads’ Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure,’ organized by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters. With this achievement, Gwacheon City has once again proven itself to be the local government that best keeps its promises to citizens, having secured the top grade for four consecutive years across the entire 8th popular election term.

This evaluation conducted a precise analysis of five areas, including pledge fulfillment rates, resident communication, and web communication, to comprehensively assess the level of pledge implementation and transparency of basic local governments nationwide. As of the end of December 2025, Gwacheon City recorded a pledge fulfillment rate of 84.4%, a figure that significantly exceeds the national average of 70.42% by approximately 14 percentage points. The city has enhanced administrative credibility by transparently disclosing the process of establishing citizen-participatory implementation plans and conducting regular inspections on its website.

In particular, last year, Gwacheon City achieved notable results by completing 18 pledged projects that were highly tangible to citizens. By implementing key tasks across education, welfare, and living infrastructure—ranging from the selection of a preferred bidder for a comprehensive medical facility to the opening of a municipal nursing home, securing a site for a single-unit middle school within the Knowledge Information Town, and opening a dog park—the city substantially improved the quality of life for its citizens.
