경기도의회 정윤경 부의장(더불어민주당·군포1)이 지난 10월 19일 경기도 소방재난본부 신청사와 옛 경기도청 잔디마당에서 열린 제1회 경기소방 119메모리얼데이에 참석해 순직 소방공무원 30인을 추모하고 유가족들에게 깊은 위로를 전했다.

정윤경 부의장은 해태공원 헌화 후 추모사를 통해 “그분들은 불길 속에서도, 거센 물결 속에서도 누군가의 손을 끝까지 놓지 않으셨다”며, “위험 앞에서도 한 발 더 나아갔던 용기와 헌신이 바로 경기도와 대한민국을 지탱한 보이지 않는 기둥이었다”고 말했다.

이어 “우리가 누리는 평온한 일상은 누군가의 희생 위에 세워져 있다”며, “사랑하는 가족을 잃은 유가족의 슬픔을 모두 헤아릴 수는 없지만, 그분들의 이름이 잊히지 않도록 경기도의회가 끝까지 함께하겠다”고 약속했다.
