안양시인재육성재단(이사장 최대호)이 미래 세대를 위한 교육공동체의 발전 방향을 모색하기 위해 장학생과 학부모, 교사, 관계자 등이 함께하는 간담회를 개최했다. 

지난 11월 3일 재단 베네치아 중강당에서 열린 이번 간담회는 ‘보이지 않던 연결, 함께 만든 변화–시민이 함께 만든 장학과 교육의 생태계’를 주제로 진행됐다.

최대호 안양시장이 민선 8기 3주년을 맞아 진행하는 ‘공공기관 및 협력기관 순회 간담회’의 일환으로 개최된 이번 간담회는 안양시와 인재육성재단, 시민이 함께 만들어온 장학·교육정책의 성과를 공유하며 향후 발전 방향을 논의하기 위한 자리였다.

참석자들은 장학사업이 단순한 경제적 지원을 넘어 개인의 성장과 가족의 행복, 지역사회의 발전으로 이어지는 사례를 공유하며 학교와 지역이 협력하는 ‘안양형 교육’의 미래를 논의했다.

2016·2017년 재단 장학생 출신으로 현재 안양에서 노무법인을 운영 중인 박정호 대표노무사는 “안양에는 우수한 청년 인재가 많다”며, “장학생 간 네트워크 확대와 지역 봉사 기회가 더 다양해지길 바란다”고 말했다.

프로골퍼 조우영 선수의 아버지 조명호씨는 “재단을 통해 아들의 꿈이 인정받는 경험을 했다”며, “단순한 금전 지원이 아니라 아이의 가능성을 믿어준 시간이었다”고 소감을 밝혔다. 조 선수는 2014년부터 7년간 재단의 장학금을 받았으며, 지난해 KPGA 더채리티클래식에서 우승했다.

최대호 안양시장은 “조우영 선수가 받은 사랑을 후배들에게 재능기부로 돌려주고 있어 장학의 선순환 구조가 실현되고 있다”며, “시민 모두가 그 변화를 체감하고 있다”고 말했다.

한편, 진로교사와 학부모 등은 재단 사업과 관련한 제안도 내놨다. 한 고등학교 교사는 “재단 덕분에 진로 교육의 질이 향상됐다”며, “앞으로 진학지도와 상담 지원이 확대되길 바란다”고 말했다.

재단은 2011년 설립 이후 지금까지 1만3,115명에게 총 98억2,600만 원의 장학금을 지급했다. 2013년에는 전국 최초로 미래인재교육센터를 설립해 진로·창업·멘토링 등 공교육 지원을 체계화하며 ‘안양형 교육공동체’ 기반을 다졌다.

특히 ‘안양시 재능장학생 오디션’은 예술·체육·과학 등 다양한 분야의 청소년을 선발해 장학금을 지원하는 전국 유일의 오디션형 장학제도로 주목받고 있다.

최대호 이사장은 “안양의 장학은 단순한 지원이 아니라 사람의 마음을 잇는 통로이자 도시의 철학”이라며, “시민과 함께 성장하며 모든 아이들이 마음껏 배우고 도전할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

This traveling meeting, organized to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the 8th Local Government Election, aimed to strengthen communication with public and partner organizations, share the achievements of scholarship and education policies developed jointly by the city, foundation, and citizens, and discuss future directions. Jo Myeong-ho, father of professional golfer Cho Woo-young, also attended the event and said, "Through the foundation, I experienced my son's dream being recognized.
